About

Who We Are?

ArchivesSpace is the open source archives information management application for managing and providing web access to archives, manuscripts and digital objects. The New York University Libraries, UC San Diego Libraries, and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Libraries have partnered to develop an enhanced archives management application that incorporates the best features of Archivist’s Toolkit (AT) and Archon. With funding from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the project team has developed a technical platform, governance structure, and service model that will provide the archival community with a cutting-edge, extensible, and sustainable platform for describing analog and born-digital archival materials.

How We Do?

Our Company Mission

ArchivesSpace is two halves of a whole - it is both an application and a community. The application serves the community. The community supports the application. Together, ArchivesSpace is the next-generation sustainable archives management solution built by archives for archivists.

Success Stories

ArchivesSpace has received high interest in its early stages, with 55 Charter Members joining before the application has been finalized. We look forward to more positive reception and the formation of an active and diverse community, in addition to a large membership contributing to our governance model and sustainability.
